The Lottery

Wow was my 1st reaction. Who could have predicted Oden and Durant going to the Pacific Northwest. I guess nobody can really claim that the draft is rigged anymore. I would say I feel bad for Memphis, Boston, and Milwaukee except Memphis was a playoff team in 05-06 but Gasol got hurt, Boston has the most championships so I can never feel bad for them and Milwaukee just had the #1 pick recently and they had numerous injuries too.

It's going to be very interesting to see what happens in the draft and the off-season. Portland will most likely take Oden but are they going to trade Zach Randolph (head-case and they have Aldridge too) to get someone like Rashard Lewis or Jason Kidd? Seattle has to take Durant if Oden goes 1st but he plays the same position as Rashard so will they trade Rashard? Will Atlanta finally take a PG and draft Conley?

All I know is that the Lakers better do something because the West is getting tougher

Lock playoff teams in the West (based on current make-up of teams and projected draft picks)

1. Dallas
2. Phoenix
3. San Antonio
4. Houston
5. Utah
6. Denver

Contenders - Lakers, Warriors, Clippers, Hornets, Blazers, and maybe Sonics

Obviously things will clear up some with trades (KG? Billups? Lewis? VC? J Kidd?)
